A forgotten concept
I frequently ask myself "What happened to kids being able to be kids?". Kids are naturally inquisitive about their surroundings. What better way to nurture that desire then through playtime activities? Good job.

Creative Curriculum
We don't use CC in Raleigh. We use a reading series called Opening the World of Learning, that has progress monitoring sheets that we fill out, and three times a year, we send home a progress report that looks a little like a kindergarten report card. On it, we check off the things the child can do under different areas, like social/emotional, literacy and math. It also has a checklist for capital letters, lower case letters, letter sounds, shapes and colors.

Manipulatives
The use of manipulatives in a mathematics classroom is a huge asset. I love being able to give my students tactile objects that will help them to understand a concept.
